On Saturday 5th October 2019, we will be holding a celebration event at Gilwell Park to celebrate our 75th anniversary. This event is open to all current and former members of the QSWP, and their partners.
There are two options available for the weekend; you can either attend just for the Celebration Event, or you can attend the Celebration Event as part of our annual Weekend Away.
You can sign up for both options here. Please be aware that places may be limited (particularly for Weekend Away due to the amount of accommodation we have booked), and places are on a first come first served basis. Your place is not confirmed until payment has been received.
Both the Celebration Event and the Weekend Away are for adults (18+) only.
Celebration Event Only
The Celebration Event will start at 1630 with a drinks reception and speeches. At 1800 there will be a hog roast, followed by evening entertainment (details to be confirmed). The evening will finish at 2230.
Partners of current or former members are welcome to attend the celebration event.
The cost of the Celebration Event is £25, and includes a drinks reception, a hog roast, and evening entertainment. Drinks during the event (except for the drinks reception) are not included, and you should bring your own as we will not be operating a bar.
The dress code for the event will be confirmed nearer the time.
The Weekend Away will follow the usual format, with the Celebration Event replacing the Saturday evening meal. A rough outline for the weekend, which will be confirmed nearer the time, is as follows:
- Friday evening - Meet in a local pub for dinner and drinks
- Saturday morning - Sweet making and trading game activity organised by EIJ Enterprise Zone Core Team
- Saturday early afternoon - Activities (TBC)
- Saturday late afternoon and evening - Celebration event
- Sunday morning - Walk in Epping Forest
- Sunday afternoon - Depart
At this time, the Weekend Away is only open to current and former members (i.e. not partners) due to limitations on available accommodation. We will review this nearer the time once we have a better idea of demand for beds.
The cost of the Weekend Away is £60, and includes the Celebration Event as detailed above, accommodation on Friday and Saturday evening, food from Saturday Breakfast through to Sunday Lunch, and some additional activities.
Accommodation for Weekend Away will be in one of the Gilwell Park lodges. The lodges have bunk beds, but you will need to provide your own bedding or sleeping bag. As we are expecting the event to be popular, rooms are likely to be mixed.
Payment for both options should be via bank transfer into the following bank account. Please use your name as the reference, and ensure you have also completed the registration form.

To celebrate our 75th anniversary, we have released a commemorative badges for you to add to your camp blankets. These are available exclusively to current and past members of the QSWP (although you are welcome to trade them on if you wish). Any proceeds from the sale of badges will go towards funding our celebration event in October.
Badges are £3 each, and £2 per order for postage (or free delivery at one of our events).
T-shirts and Hoodies
A special 75th anniversary design for QSWP t-shirts and hoodies is available during 2019. These will be available exclusively to current members and can be worn to our less formal events (such as Gilwell Reunion) alongside existing QSWP t-shirts and hoodies.
Current members can order via the Carrie Lou Print and Embroidery shop. Please note that we will be checking orders against the list of current members.
